Maltese
Dog is a so called fur dog
and her attractiveness lies in her long white fur that
goes down all the way to the ground. How is this possible
then - can't the Maltese Dog enjoy normal dog living -
ransacking flower beds - burying her dainty bits allover
- running in forests and on gravel roads - swimming in
the summer and frolicking after a ball on a beach like
other dogs do??? Yes, she can but then you may well forget
about long coat. You should take scissors to keep your
Maltese in a short hair-do and take pleasure of your dogs
interests, which is really fun aswell.
However
if you want to haluat raise and maintain your Maltese
in the beautiful long coat typical for her, it will take
a lot of time and effort from you as well as certain knowledge
and skills. You should also adapt your dog from very little
to all those procedures that tending her coat requires.
Since that a wrapped Maltese will pad along at your home.
The work is daily and persistent. You also need certain
chemicals and equipment as well as handiness and technique
in using them.

This
is where you begin.
First wash your Maltese and carefully blow-dry. There is
no use in bundling dirty coat - it will do more harm than
good. Use shampoo and conditioner suited for your dog's
coat. There are several brands on the market and washing
and conditioning agents usually come across through experience.
1 all Systems, Pet Silk, Bio Groom etc. are popular - usually
breeders tell new owners about these basic matters when
handing over a puppy. |

You
should start with the head.
The hair in the head are assembled to the top of the head
where you bundle them, the same way you bundle the muzzle
hair, shown by the picture. |
|
Then you can start bundling the the
body hair as shown in the following pictures.
